This is NECWA's original Humpback Whales of New England design by NECWA staff member Alex Egan. This design includes 10 different humpack whale ventral tail patterns with their names below. The humpack whales included in this design are Nile, Tunguska, Ember, Salt, Pele, Pepper, Jabiru, Canopy, Putter, and Wizard. Scientists can identify over 5,000 individual humpack whales in the waters of the Gulf of Maine. They do this by comparing the natural black and white markings on the bottom of the flukes for these markings are unique to each individual.
This image is printed in black ink on a 100% cotton tote bag. Sales from this tote go to support our Marine Wildlife Research Program that focuses on the life history of humpback whales that visit our New England waters each season.
This 100% cotton tote opens wide for it has a full, rectangular bottom. When measuremed flat, the tote bag is 16" wide by 14" high (tall). When expanded, the bag is 5" wide so it can carry lots of groceries or other purchases. Bring this tote bag with you and carry it with pride knowing that you are supporting marine research, conservation, and education in the New England area.
